Thank you for visiting my website.
With my immense passion in Economics, I started JCEconomics.com as a platform to help students excel in Economics by sharing my wealth of knowledge.
As you may already know, the current GCE ‘A’ level examination emphasise more on testing higher-order thinking skills of knowledge and comprehension. In order to do well in the examination, you need to demonstrate higher order thinking skills (Application, Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation) in your answers.
At JCEconomics.com, students are not encouraged to memorise lecture notes as it weakens their ability to achieve the highest level of response in the Economics paper. When it comes to Economics, it is all about understanding and applying relevant economics theories you have learnt to explain current economic events. You need to know how to integrate different topics to construct a coherent line of argument and reconcile conflicting ideas. Also, you must be able to analyse the effectiveness and limitations of various economic policies. Finally, it is important to make sure all your ideas are clear, concise, logical and ‘flow’ in the same direction as examiners always look for “quality” rather than “quantity” when marking essays.
Apart from teaching concepts required by the school syllabus, I like to spice things up by incorporating real world Economic events and personal anecdotes in my lesson. I enjoy guiding all the JC Economics students personally to ensure a high quality of delivery.
On the other hand, I am glad that my former students continue to excel academically at top local and overseas universities such as University of Cambridge and London School of Economics and Political Science. I always feel a great sense of achievement whenever I see my students succeed at the end of the day.
With my passion in teaching, I promise to make the learning journey of Economics fun and fruitful for students to pass Economics with flying colours. Aceing Economics is no longer a far-fetched dream and it can now be achieved with JCEconomics.com.
I look forward to seeing you in class. Wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
